Oral-B launches rechargeable electric toothbrushes in India, price starts at Rs 3,800

NEW DELHI: Oral-B has launched two new electric toothbrushes in India. Dubbed PRO 2000 and PRO 600, the rechargeable toothbrushes are priced at Rs 5,800 and Rs 3,800 respectively. They come with proprietary oscillating, rotating and pulsating technology for better removal of dental plaque. Both toothbrushes are available exclusively on Amazon.

The Pro 2000 includes visible pressure sensors that light up to alert the user when they apply too much pressure while brushing.  

 

Both toothbrushes come with an on-handle timer which buzzes every 30 seconds to let a user know when it's time to focus on brushing the next quadrant of their mouth. It also alerts when the user has brushed for 2 minutes (dentist's recommendation). The toothbrushes have multiple cleaning modes and the round head is designed to reach areas that are often difficult, claiming to provide a much better brushing experience.

"We're proud to introduce our new electric toothbrushes, including the Oral-B Pro 2000, in India with Oscillating, Rotating, and Pulsating (ORP) technology. Its unique oscillating, rotating and pulsating action moves up to 48,800 times, removing up to a 100% more plaque vs. a regular brush," Oral-B's R&D Expert Phillip Hundeshagen said in a statement.

The company's research has showed that up to 80% of people spend insufficient time brushing in at least one zone in their mouths, while 60% of people either spend insufficient time brushing their molars or don't brush them at all. Oral-B claims that its electric toothbrushes help ensure that a user is brushing correctly and spending enough time brushing each quadrant of the mouth, thus resulting in better oral health.
